The NCV7685 consists of twelve linear programmable constant current sources with a common reference. The part is suitable for LED-based rear tail combination light regulation and control in automotive applications. the NCV7685 uses pulse width modulation (PWM) individually for each programmable output channel via the I2C serial interface, thus allowing 128 levels of different duty cycles to be realized. the PWM frequency can be selected in four different configurations up to 1200 Hz. the device can be used in microcontroller applications using the I2C bus, or in standalone applications. The IC also provides a 3.3 V voltage reference for applications up to 1 mA. LED brightness is easily programmed using external resistors. Each channel has an internal circuit to detect open load conditions and has an optional auto-recovery mode. If one driver is an open load condition, all other channels may be turned off according to the programmable bit setting. The device utilizes a small form factor SSOP24?EP encapsulation.
